Found under Advanced Search it enables returned search results to be filtered by reading level of the page content.

Google and Bing come clean on Social Media (SM)

It has long been thought that with the addition of social media features and search options from both Google and Bing that social activity, Tweets and FB posts and commenting were being used, to some extent, in both of their search algoriths. But, until now that was all it was.

However, from a series of questions asked by Danny Sullivan of SEL (Search Engine Land), both have come clean and admitted they are using them in different ways to varying degrees.

Common misunderstandings about search engine optimization

It's still surprising how many new website owners still believe that all that is needed is to register a domain name, host space, setup a site either themselves or use an outside agency, add their preferred keywords to the meta keywords tag, submit it to Google and then sit back and wait on visitors and leads to pour in.

There might have been a time when that just may have worked but not today with the volume of new sites launched and literally millions of new pages, if not more, published everyday.

The competition for first page ranking in Google is fierce and unrelenting. But not impossible!

UK Internet/Digital Advertising shows another year of growth

Online/digital advertising expenditure in UK showed a 4.2% increase to £3.5 billion in 2009 bucking the trend seen in other areas of the advertising industry.

Search advertising exceeded £2 billion with video ads showing the greatest growth. The figures for online grew during 2009 despite an overall decline in the total UK advertising spend.

Is this the death knell for traditional advertising?
